The lime N' Dine feature highlights restaurants around the BVI. It not intended to be a restaurant review but more of a personal dining experience of the writer.
We hope you find this feature both interesting and helpful.
Dockmasters Deli
- Melissa Woodley
Step into the bustling Dockmasters Deli at lunchtime and you'll find a menu board of sandwiches and salads so long you'll need time to stop and think. The tiny deli is usually full of people popping in for a takeaway lunch, but you can also purchase imported grocery items and snacks, as well as cold drinks.
With an extensive menu of items made using fresh ingredients, Dockmasters has something to suit everyone's tastes. Basic sandwiches are given a fun twist by the addition of gourmet ingredients like feta cheese, dill havarti and chutney, or by incorporating non-traditional sandwich ingredients like grated carrots, olive tapenade and watercress.
Menu standards have been thoughtfully created, pairing ingredients to create a perfect match. From the simple Caprese to the complex Greek chicken, each one-of-a-kind sandwich is made fresh.
Salads, paid by the pound, range from the typical garden and Caesar to the exotic tropical chicken and honey mustard chickpea. Each is built according to your specifications, ensuring that you get exactly what you want. Daily specials include soups, such as chicken chowder, homemade quiches and new sandwich combinations or seasonal twists on old favorites. On Wednesdays, Dockmasters has sushi specials, including a variation on the popular California roll as well as an adventurous eel roll.
Orders can be called in on 494-2771, extension 486, for fast pickup. Prepared sandwiches and salads are also available for "grab and go" customers in a hurry. A few tables outside provide seating. Dockmasters is located in the Village Cay complex and is open from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
