The lime N' Dine feature highlights restaurants around the BVI. It not intended to be a restaurant review but more of a personal dining experience of the writer.

We hope you find this feature both interesting and helpful.

Pusser's East

- By Melissa Woodley

Pusser's East

"Try a Pusser's Painkiller," was the first thing my brother told me when he learned I was headed to the BVI, and so I knew of Pusser's long before I stepped off the plane. I did try one, of course, and Pusser's Landing continues to be a regular eatery for me, as well as other residents and tourists.

Over the past few months, the Pusser's line of restaurants has made some marked changes. At the West End location, first came fancy cocktails (coffee and lychee martinis, to name a few) at reasonable prices, followed by the installation of a take-out window for pizza and "Pusser's Fried Chicken." Soon after, on the heels of East End's Fat Hog Bob's closing, a new location dubbed Pusser's East opened in its place.

Stepping inside, the indoor dining room has a cozy feel, with historical Pusser's posters and model ships scattered throughout. The outdoor deck overlooks Maya Cove with a view of the channel and outer islands.

The lunch menu features some items special to Pusser's East, including a large list of appetizers, a selection of salads, sandwiches, paninis, and down-sized portions of dinner entrees like hearty macaroni and cheese. Steak and mixed-grill skillet dishes offer new variety to the standard "English pub fare" found at some of the other Pusser's locations.

Of course, Pusser's own brand of rum is prominently used in desserts as well as cocktails, including the infamous Painkiller, which I know my brother will be happy to hear.
