The lime N' Dine feature highlights restaurants around the BVI. It not intended to be a restaurant review but more of a personal dining experience of the writer.

Dining on the Isle
- By Carlyne Rachele
Visiting Pusser’s Restaurant at Marina Cay is a one of a kind experience. Imagine dining on a private island surrounded by white sandy beaches and turquoise waters that is the stuff of books and movies. Only accessible by water, this idyllic island has a great dock, moorings and fabulous food in an unforgettable setting.
The restaurant menu at Pusser’s is varied and enticing, offering an extensive array of both continental and West Indian appetizers, entrees and specials. From Trinidadian crab cakes and Jamaican style fish to deep fried calamari, New York strip steak and native lobster, there is something to please every palette. For more casual dining, head to the thatched roof tables by the sea and enjoy some West Indian conch fritters, chicken roti, Down Island baby back ribs or a grilled mahi mahi sandwich, all while having sand between your toes and the sea lapping at your feet.
Pusser’s drink menu is as well known as its food menu so don’t miss out on enjoying a beverage at one of the island’s two great bars, the Robb White Bar at the top of the island or the Rum Island Bar in the restaurant. Pusser’s also makes its own brand of rum which can be purchased at their store by the dock.
As for Marina Cay being the stuff of books and movies, the island was bought for $60 in 1937 by an American, Robb White, where he lived with his wife, Rodie, for many years. Their adventures are documented in White’s book, Our Virgin Island which was later made into a movie, Two on the Isle. A photographic journal of the couple’s stay on Marina Cay can be viewed alongside the restaurant bar.
Dinner reservations are suggested, 494-2174, and a free ferry is available to and from Pusser’s Marina Cay Restaurant from Trellis Bay.
