The lime N' Dine feature highlights restaurants around the BVI. It not intended to be a restaurant review but more of a personal dining experience of the writer.
We hope you find this feature both interesting and helpful.
Verandah at Treasure Isle
- By Melissa Woodley
Right in the heart of Road Town is one of the BVI’s oldest hotels. Treasure Isle is perched on the hill overlooking Road Harbour, just as it has for decades. Today, diners at the hotel’s restaurant, Verandah, can enjoy the view and the breeze during lunch or dinner.
Wednesday lunches cater to Road Town workers with a $20 all-you-can-eat buffet, but service on other days is quick enough to fit in your lunch hour. The varied menu has plates such as Orange Zest Shrimp, Tamarind BBQ Ribs, sandwiches and pastas, and unique salads including Greek, Hearts of Palm, and Smoked Salmon. All meals are moderately priced, with nothing over $18.
For dinner, there is truly something for everyone: shrimp, fish, steak, lamb, pork, duck, chicken, and of course vegetarian options. A variety of cuisines are featured, with an Asian-influenced sweet and sour sauce for the pork, local scotch bonnet peppers spicing up the lamb, and a classic French Seafood Bouillabaisse with saffron broth. Local staples Pumpkin Soup, Seafood Roti, and Stew Conch are also featured on Verandah’s menus. The restaurant offers both open air dining inside and al fresco seating around the pool to suit your mood.
